After business school, Harold Tananbaum started his career in capital finance. However, Harold always had a passion for cars. So, when he saw an ad in Automotive News magazine for a franchise opportunity, he took advantage of it, and Greentree Toyota was born!

On Harold's youngest daughter's birthday in September 1976, the dealership formally opened its doors. Years later, in 1995, the dealership relocated to its current location.
To this day, Greentree Toyota is a family-owned and run business. Three generations of the Tananbaum family are currently employed at the store.
